Germination steps Johnny.
Freedom does that.
The Underground Railroad was in Indiana.
A big part.
My area was active.
Valparaiso.
There was a big raid in Michigan when I was young.
The Kentucky Raid of 1847.
I was 16 that year.
The raid in Vandalia made national news Gus.
Vandalia is less than 100 miles from Valpo.
The raid was spoken of in Congress.
The Freedom Seekers won that day.
The Kentucky slavers didn't have the right paperwork.
So ruled a local judge.
Re-enslavement was what the Kentuckians wanted.
Expected their property rights Johnny.
In 1847, with shotguns and pitchforks, the people of Vandalia said no to tyranny.
And in 1864, with faith in themselves, Betsey and James said yes to freedom.
Indeed.

Representation usurpation

What would have happened if they had been caught Johnny?
Caught running?
What if, after leaving the mansion on January 8th, Betsey and James get caught seeking?
Hard to know Yank.
Separated for sure.
Common.
They were free according to Lincoln and federal law.
Just not free according to Jeff.
The war went on for 16 months Johnny.
Betsey and James knew the risk.
Knew the reward.
Also knew Richmond.
Betsey and James had connections.
People learn how to communicate Gus.
There's always an underground.
Always.
You knew the risks Reb.
So did you.
Not like you did.
True.
You knew of the representation usurpation.

Passageways and We the People

I, Johnny Reb, knew of the thirty Thousand.
I, Gus Kotka, didn't.
Neither did the people of Vandalia.
Nor Valpo.
We the People are 21st century freedom seekers.
Seeking freedom from the bondage of usurpation.
Slavery is usurpation.
Is usurpation slavery?
It ain't freedom Gus.
Usurpation is enslavement to an unlawful law.
Tyranny.
Just like slavery.
We the People need each other Yank.
More than ever Reb.
This passageway means that to me.
The thirty Thousand is our passageway.
A utility.
Built for time.
Like the truth.
A first order reality Johnny.
Makes a first order Republic.

Expectations

Women Reb.
Yes.
Our day ain't like today.
Expectations in both Gus.
Varina was expected to have babies.
It took several years.
Jeff worrying of course.
Mary Chesnut felt the pressure too.
You said she was anti-slavery and anti-Black.
Mary never had children.
Oh-oh.
Her father-in-law wrote his will against her for it.
Punished.
Wrote that if no male heirs were produced, his property would revert to a male descendant.
Mercy.
None given to Mary.
Men did that to women.
Women were mostly a rightless class.
Much like the enslaved.
Correct.

Underrepresented

Women today Johnny.
Right.
That's not much of an answer.
Right.
Maybe women today should speak for themselves.
Perhaps in a new house for We the People.
Represented according to numbers.
In a coalition of the constitutionally willing.
What is their number Reb?
Women are more than 50 percent Yank.
And how much representation in the usurpation do women have Johnny?
About 20 percent.
Whoa.
Women are the largest underrepresented group in America.
So they stand to gain with the thirty Thousand.
The most.
Exciting Reb.

Women are the key to America's greatness

Women are the key Gus.
The key to America’s greatness.
The turn of We the People is the turning of the key.
The key is representation.
The lock is Article 1.
Section 2.
Clause 3.
Of the US Constitution Reb.
Turn the great key America.
Open the door.
Become We the People.
Become who we are.
World leaders of republican representation.
Unlike any other in the world.
Unique even.
It is what makes us great Johnny.
It is America's foundation Gus.
It is America.
First order.

Riley Kingen and John Brown

Was I the only casualty on 11 August?
Book says Rebs killed Augustus Kotka.
We saw that.
And two others wounded during a night of skirmishing.
Names?
Riley Kingen and John Brown.
John Brown?
Imagine that.
Quite the name after 1859.
You Yanks had a Jefferson C. Davis.
From Indiana.
Infamous too.
Shot and killed a fellow officer Johnny.
Did.
Because of an insult.
A lot like our Jeff.
Unless you deferred.
Jeff was always quick to fight.
Go figure.

A Higher Power

It was an issue.
For all of us Johnny.
During our times people spoke of a higher power.
Got caned in the Senate for it.
And murdered in Kansas for it.
That's why it was bleeding.
We didn't turn our problems over to the constitutional higher power.
The thirty Thousand.
Our not yet named Gus.
And already is.
The not yet named is the answer.
To every political question.
Taxes.
War.
Debt.
Justice.
Homelessness.
Immigration.
Not In the name of the Usurped States of America.

Windows

Rather Reb.
Rather in the name of We the People.
Represented as the founders taught.
Which would then be the United States of America.
Teach.
United and not Usurped States.
Like looking out an old window.
And seeing things new.
Name the thirty Thousand Johnny.
Say it.
And begin to solve problems.
Like who are We?
And what are We gonna do?
Doesn't matter who wins an election if it is a usurpation election.
One usurper replacing a usurper.
Is still a usurper.
We the People, represented as the Constitution dictates, that is our is.
First order Yank.
Our not yet named.

We the People and Others: What Would Jesus Do… Deport the Catholics?

Romans 12:17-21, The Book of the Is (page 40)

Reductio ad absurdum

Sure, the Jesus reference in the title is absurd, but there are defining similarities between Jesus and the Dreamers: because of their parents, both were born somewhere and then live somewhere else.

A Roman Immigration Officer might have asked Jesus some interesting questions, like:
“Who is your father?”
“Immaculate conception?”
“Where is your papyrus showing a Bethlehem birth?"
“You say ‘Three Wise Men’ were witnesses?”
“And what kind of work are you doing in Nazareth these days?”

Or one could read Romans for a Jesus-inspired Christ-like teaching that a constitutional We the People might try to enact; others, Martin Luther for example, have found inspiration and reverence in Paul’s counsel.

There is also the parable Jesus told about The Good Samaritan: this parable supports The Great Commandment (how one should live).

So what would Jesus do?

The teachings of Jesus are a political goal not represented by usurpation. Something like “The Good ‘Merican,” given the Great Commandment, seems the logical goal of a Christian United States of America. By representing We the People in Congress according to numbers, that is, by the law, we would find out what Jesus-inspired ‘Mericans would do … good and/or otherwise.

The Immaculate Preconception

“The Precession of Simulacra,” pages 11-12

This would be the successive phases of the image:
            -it is the reflection of a basic reality
            -it masks and perverts a basic reality
            -it masks the absence of a basic reality
            -it bears no relation to any reality whatever: it is its own pure simulacrum.

In the first case, the image is a good appearance – the representation is of the order of sacrament. In the second, it is an evil appearance – of the order of malefice [evil enchantment]. In the third, it plays at being an appearance – it is of the order of sorcery. In the fourth, it is no longer in the order of appearance at all, but of simulation.

Baudrillard was harder to explain before our current political situation: now the first through fourth orders of the image (this is the “I m age” / ego) can be clearly discerned.

Imagine “We the People” as an image.

Is “We the People” a first order reality, one based on the constitutional representation ratio found in Article 1? Or is “We the People” a simulation of the usurpation and therefore a fake representation?

Perhaps the nativity scene is a useful image for understanding Baudrillard’s four orders. To begin with, to understand there is a baby Jesus missing, one has to know of the first order, of a complete Jesus nativity. Take Aspasia or Socrates, for example, individuals living 400 years before Jesus; they would have difficulty imagining the setting; even more difficult, meaning for the bottomless manger, absent baby Jesus and the third wise man represented as an ass. A Socrates might also see the angel more as a guiding spirit, a daemon, more than we allow ourselves to see directing signs and spirits.

Baudrillard also noted, to quote in paraphrase, that nostalgia assumes its full meaning when the real is no longer what it used to be.

We the People: to be or not to be first or fourth order? – To be constitutionally real or constitutionally fake?

The answer is on the horizon we call now.

2020 Constitutional Representation

Value

Hannah Arendt’s value clarity was noteworthy; to requote: “Value is the quality a thing can never possess in privacy but acquires automatically the moment it appears in public.”

The thirty Thousand and Seventh Amendment are both public, so how is it they exhibit so little power?

Jean Baudrillard (political theorist) adds a bit to Arendt’s value definition with the “fourth order” and the workings of the hyperreal; Bruce Dold of the Chicago Tribune comes to mind as an example of a hyperrealist; our Constitution is clear (see picture above) and yet First Amendment corporations remain silent.

Silence concerning the representation of We the People according to our numbers is Constitutional decadence.
